CommerceClarity seeks a Founding Head of Engineering to own engineering, architecture, and delivery. You will lead four engineers, define standards, and guide the technical roadmap with the CPTO.

Responsibilities include data architecture for millions of SKUs, multi-language support, and scalable infrastructure. The role requires EU-based mobility, fluent English, and startup-scale impact.

Responsabilidades

• Own core platform architecture and technology choices.

What the role is about

We are looking for a Founding Head of Engineering, the person who owns engineering at CommerceClarity.

You own the function: the architecture, the technical bar, delivery, and the four engineers on the team.

This is a hybrid role: base yourself anywhere in the EU and travel to Milan and Barcelona once a month.

What you would own

• The core platform architecture and the technology choices behind it. You stay a product builder.
• The engineering standards: code quality, review, testing, and what counts as done.
• The team. You manage it and you grow it.
• The technical roadmap with the CPTO, and what engineering commits to.
• Data architecture for high-volume catalog work: millions of SKUs, many languages, many channels.
• Infrastructure and the operational bar: infrastructure as code, CI/CD, monitoring, security, high availability, incident response.
• The definition of what the platform can do with AI.

Who you are

Essential

• You have managed engineers directly.
• Around ten years building platforms or SaaS, with architecture you actually owned.
• You have built inside an early-stage startup.
• You are fluent at using LLMs to orchestrate several coding agents.
• You have shipped AI agents: prompting, tool use, orchestration, evals.
• Deep data architecture knowledge under real traffic.
• Comfortable deciding on incomplete information, and iterating fast.
• Clear with technical and business stakeholders alike, and you hold your position when it matters.
• Based in the EU, able to travel to Milan and Barcelona once a month.
• Fluent English.

Preferred

• Retail and ecommerce experience.
• You have built software for large enterprises.
• You have been a technical co-founder.
