Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Naval Architect to support the Forward Deployed Regional Maintenance Center (FDRMC) in Rota, Spain. The role focuses on hull, structural, and coating systems-supporting inspections, casualty response, and repair planning for forward-deployed U.S. Navy vessels.

Responsibilities include on-site and remote inspections, stability support during casualties, and documentation using Navy systems, with travel to various OCONUS locations as required.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting US Navy shipboard hull, structural, and coating systems.
• Ability to perform structural assessments, corrosion evaluations, and repair planning.
• Knowledge of ship stability principles and ability to support casualty response.

Responsibilities

• Provide Fleet Technical Assistance to evaluate casualties affecting hull, structural, and coating systems.
• Conduct on-site and distant inspections of hulls, tanks, voids, and structural members to assess damage and develop repair recommendations.
• Support stability calculations during casualty response and drills.
• Document findings and prepare reports using Navy systems and standards.
