Job summary

Sateliot, a Barcelona-based satellite company, is seeking a Flight Software Engineer to own the On-Board Software (OBSW) from baseline to next generation, developing, verifying and validating it for Sateliot’s satellites — from today’s baseline to the next generation — developing, verifying and validating it, and supporting the platform through integration campaigns and in orbit, working closely with the Systems, Hardware, AIT and Operations teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years developing embedded software in C or C++ for resource-constrained targets.
• Hands-on development on real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS, RTEMS, VxWorks or equivalent).
• Hands-on development on data interfaces used in satellite systems (SpaceWire, CAN Bus, RS-422, RS-485, Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553).
• Demonstrated ownership of embedded software verification: authored unit and integration test suites.

Responsibilities

• Own the development of the on-board flight software for the platform, through to a flight-ready release.
• Own its verification and validation: define and run the unit, integration and system-level test campaigns that produce the acceptance evidence for each release.
• Deliver software that is robust and reliable in the space environment.
• Own the integration of the on-board software with the satellite subsystems, interfaces and overall system architecture, working closely with the Hardware, Systems and AIT teams.
• Resolve issues across software, hardware, interfaces and communication protocols, from the bench and AIT campaigns through to in-orbit operations.
