Newton Colmore Consulting is seeking a Firmware Engineer for a TechBio project in Northern Spain. You will design, develop and maintain C++ firmware for microcontrollers and embedded systems, and collaborate across control theory and production devices.

We value strong C++ and Python skills for automation and control, a Master’s in electronics or robotics, and experience with Linux-based embedded environments. The role is five days onsite with relocation support and a competitive package.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop and maintain C++ firmware for microcontrollers and embedded systems from concept to production.
• Test, validate and debug firmware and control systems down to root cause.
• Develop firmware for multiparametric probes and implement advanced control algorithms.
• Collaborate across the firmware lifecycle including theory and production devices.

Firmware Engineer - TechBio

Newton Colmore is working with a pioneering TechBio company in Northern Spain, assisting them in their search for a firmware engineer.

The company is developing a technology that aims to turn a black box process into a glass box system that is programmable, utilising state of the art sensor technology and machine learning capabilities.

This is a vital hands-on role for the company as they look to strengthen their firmware expertise, with high potential for future growth and domain leadership.

For the day-to-day activities for this role you can expect to;

• Work across the full firmware cycle, from control theory to production devices.
• Design, develop and maintain efficient and robust C++ firmware for microcontrollers and embedded systems.
• Develop firmware for multiparametric probes and implement advanced control algorithms
• Test, validate and debug firmware and control systems down to root cause.

This is an exciting time to join this company as they move forward with the design of their technology, with pre-seed already secured, moving toward raising series A, and ongoing projects with existing customers.

To be considered for this exciting role you will need to have the following;

• Experience developing C++ and Python software focused on automation and control.
• Strong fundamentals and hands-on firmware experience, ideally stemming from a Master's in electronics, mechatronics, or robotics.
• Kernel and system component optimisation, and/or custom Linux distributions for embedded devices experience would be highly beneficial, but not a must.
