Job summary

Cemex España is seeking an Financial Reporting & Accounting Manager to lead the financial reporting across multiple Spanish entities, ensuring IFRS compliance, PGC alignment, and accurate consolidation. You will guide on internal controls, audits, and finance transformation within an international environment.

Based in Madrid, you will manage both in-house and outsourced teams, drive process improvements, and partner with senior stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and regulatory

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification is a plus.

As Financial Reporting & Accounting Manager, you will be responsable for leading the financial reporting and accounting function across multiple legal entities in Spain, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information while driving compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. You will also lead internal and outsourced teams, supporting strategic initiatives and transformation projects within an international environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Financial Reporting & Accounting team while coordinating outsourced service providers and shared service centers.
• Manage monthly and annual closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee financial statement preparation, consolidation activities, and corporate reporting requirements.
• Supervise general accounting activities, reconciliations, provisions, accruals, and complex accounting transactions.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, Spanish GAAP (PGC), and internal accounting policies.
• Act as the main point of contact for internal and external auditors, ensuring successful audit execution and resolution of findings.
• Monitor and strengthen internal controls in line with SOX requirements and corporate standards.
• Oversee fixed assets accounting, CAPEX reporting, and related financial controls.
• Lead finance transformation, automation, and process improvement initiatives.
• Support strategic projects, including M&A activities, integrations, and business transformations when required.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification or postgraduate specialization is a plus.
• Native or fluent Spanish.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Experience

• At least 8 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, consolidation, internal controls, and audit within complex organizations.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple stakeholders in an international environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Spanish GAAP (PGC), statutory reporting, and consolidation processes.
• Experience in finance transformation projects, outsourced finance services, or M&A activities will be highly valued.

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with SAP and financial consolidation/reporting tools such as HFM, LUCA, or Workiva.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience using Power BI for financial analysis, reporting, and dashboard development.
• Knowledge of finance process automation and digital transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with AI tools and their application in finance, accounting, and decision-making processes.
