Eurowind Energy is seeking a hands-on Controller for its growing Spanish organization to develop the local finance function. The role reports to the Country Manager Spain and collaborates with the Denmark-based Finance & Controlling team.

Responsibilites include end-to-end accounting, monthly closings, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, VAT/Corporate Tax, audits and process improvements. Fluency in Spanish and English (B2) is required; experience with D365 and ERP systems is preferred.

• Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or equivalent.

• Coordinate and manage the full accounting cycle together with external advisors (journal entries, reconciliations).
• Close monthly, half-year, and year-end; ensure accuracy and compliance with Spanish GAAP/IFRS.
• Calculate and reconcile depreciation of fixed assets across accounts.
• Supervise billing and payments; meet deadlines.
• Oversee VAT and Corporate Income Tax returns; liaise with tax authorities.
• Ensure correct accruals, deferrals and allocations.
• Proficient use of ERP systems: D365, Facturas Plus or similar.
• Prepare monthly closings and financial reporting for HQ with dashboards and budget variance analysis.
• Participate in annual budgeting and monitor execution.
• Prepare short-term cash flow forecasts.
• Support audits and act as liaison with external auditors.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes.

Due to our recent development initiatives in the market in the Spanish Market, we are currently looking for a Controller for our Spanish operations to support all phases for the development of renewable energy, PtX and Biogas projects. This job offers you the possibility of having a key role in our group's growth process in the Spanish market, while being part of a solid international group.

The role

We are looking for a Controller to join our growing Spanish organization and play a key role in building the local Finance function.

While Eurowind Energy is an established international group, our Spanish organization is still in a scale-up phase. We are therefore looking for a hands-on and entrepreneurial profile, comfortable working across the full financial spectrumm from day-to-day accounting, bank reconciliations and closings to budgeting, forecasting, corporate reporting, bank guarantees and supporting Project Finance discussions with financial institutions.

This is not a traditional Controller position. The successful candidate will combine a strong accounting foundation with a business-oriented mindset, helping establish processes and ways of working while supporting the growth of our Spanish operations. The role reports to the Country Manager Spain and works closely with the Finance & Controlling team in Denmark.

Key reposnibilities

• Coordinate and manage the full accounting cycle together with our external advisors: journal entries in the general ledger, monthly bank reconciliations, balance sheet and control accounts.
• Coordinate and carry out monthly, half-year, and year-end closings, ensuring the accuracy of financial information and compliance with applicable accounting standards (Spanish GAAP / PGC and IFRS).
• Calculate and reconcile depreciation of fixed assets across all relevant accounts.
• Supervise and control billing and associated payments, ensuring correct accounting and processing within established deadlines.
• Manage and oversee VAT and Corporate Income Tax returns, and liaise with tax advisors and tax authority inspections.
• Ensure correct accruals, deferrals, and proper allocation of income and expenses.
• Proficient use of accounting management systems: Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), Facturas Plus or similar.

Some of your main tasks will include:

• Preparing monthly closing reports and financial reporting for HQ, including dashboards (KPIs) and budget variance analysis.
• Actively participate in the annual budgeting process and monitor budget execution across the company and its projects.
• Preparing short-term cash flow forecasts and liquidity needs reports.
• Supporting the preparation of internal and external audits, acting as the key point of contact with external auditors.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and implementation of management control tools.

You will be a good match for this role if you can see yourself managing the application, monitoring, and renewal of bank guarantees and financial securities linked to renewable energy projects. You have experience as the main point of contact with banks and financial institutions for the operational management of accounts, financing, and credit conditions, and experience with monitoring available credit limits and track financial positions with each institution. In previous roles, you have been supporting the preparation of financial documentation required by banks and public bodies in the context of development and construction projects.

Key requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting and/or controlling.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish GAAP (PGC) and IFRS.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), Facturas Plus or similar ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP).
• Native Spanish and fluent English (minimum B2, assessed at interview).
• Experience in VAT, Corporate Income Tax management and liaison with tax authorities.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience or genuine interest in bank guarantee management and banking relationships.

Additionally, it can be an advantage if you:

• Have experience in the renewable energy sector.
• Have knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS or others).
• Have experience in external audit or as key liaison with auditors.
• Are proficient in reporting and BI tools (Power BI, Tagetik, etc.).
• Have experience in multinational environments or with reporting to a foreign parent company.
• Hold a professional certification: CPA, ACCA or equivalent.
