A global leader in aviation services is seeking a Finance Business Partner based in Barcelona. This mid-senior level role involves providing finance support, managing budgets, and playing a key role in strategic planning and forecasting for operations within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Finance or Economics and be a part-qualified accountant, with strong relationship-building skills and prior business partnering experience. The position offers a full-time employment opportunity in a dynamic industry.

Formación

• Experience in a multidisciplinary environment, teamwork, and self-motivation.
• Previous exposure to business cases would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of Finance Operations (P2P, RTR, OTC etc.) would be an advantage.

Finance Business Partner

IAG Transform provides creative and innovative solutions to drive sustainable transformation by delivering procurement and airline services, as well as group-wide systems across IAG. Each operating company benefits from the Transform centralised model, driving efficiencies, automation, and economies of scale.

Purpose of the role

• Provide finance support & challenge to the operating functions making up IAG Transform.
• Be the first point of financial control for these teams, including spend vs budget, approving purchase orders, approving the recruitment.
• Report on YTD spend versus budget and work with these Directors to identify mitigating actions for any forecast overspends.
• Play a key role in the financial planning process, including forecasting, budgeting and the strategic five-year plan.
• Build good working relationships with these teams and understand both their short-term goals and longer-term objectives – act as a right business partner across the complete breadth of their activities, assessing the financial impact of decisions being taken and challenging where appropriate.
• Evaluate business cases for extended scope/new activities proposed for IAG Transform provide financial scrutiny, challenge and recommendations.
• Ensure that the model for recharging Transform costs to the OpCos is kept up-to-date and operate a no-surprises culture with the OpCo Finance Teams.
• Support the more comprehensive Transform Finance Transformation project.

Your responsibilities

• Financial control for Transform functions – ensure that spend follows the correct approval flows, and is understood and clearly reported to functional Directors and Finance Director.
• Play a key role (as part of Finance Business Partnering Team) in producing regular forecasts and in the annual budget process.
• Ensuring that all business cases for new work have been rigorously analysed and challenged.
• Take an active role in the wider Finance Team; promote best practice and support continuous improvement.

Your skills, experience and qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Economics or equivalent.
• Minimum Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• The ability to build excellent working relationships across multiple teams and locations.
• Confidence in challenging senior stakeholders when appropriate.
• Excellent Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, as circumstances require.
• Business Partnering experience (even if gained outside of a business partnering role).
• Previous exposure to business cases would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of Finance Operations (P2P, RTR, OTC etc.) would be an advantage.
