Job summary

ISVISION, a technology company specializing in industrial machine vision, seeks a Field Application Engineer to drive project deployment and technical services for automotive manufacturers across Europe from its Barcelona hub.

You will install, configure, and commission systems, train customers, troubleshoot, and collaborate with R&D and hardware teams. Travel across Europe is required; on-site work in Barcelona is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes or industrial robot/PLC commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and commissioning of machine vision systems at customer sites across Europe.
• Perform hardware installation, software configuration, system calibration, commissioning, and optimization.
• Configure and troubleshoot communication between vision systems, robots, and PLCs.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation throughout installation and commissioning.
• Provide on-site training to automotive OEMs and system integrators and deliver technical support and remote assistance.

Job description

ISVISION is a technology company specializing in industrial machine vision and intelligent manufacturing solutions. Our technologies support automotive manufacturing processes, including stamping, body‑in‑white, painting, final assembly, and battery production.

Our product portfolio includes glue bead inspection, surface inspection, robotic guidance, best‑fit positioning, in‑line measurement, and weld inspection systems.

As we expand our European operations, we are looking for a Field Application Engineer to join our team in Barcelona, Spain, supporting project implementation and technical services for major automotive manufacturers and system integrators across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Implementation & Technical Support

• Support the implementation and commissioning of industrial machine vision systems at customer sites across Europe.
• Perform hardware installation, software configuration, system calibration, commissioning, and optimization.
• Configure and troubleshoot communication between vision systems, industrial robots, and PLCs.
• Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation throughout installation and commissioning.

2. Customer Training & After- Sales Support

• Provide on‑site technical training to automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and system integrators.
• Deliver technical support, troubleshooting, remote assistance, and system optimization services.
• Support customer production ramp‑up, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and system performance improvements.
• Conduct on‑site and laboratory testing when required.

3. Product Development & Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate with R&D, software, and hardware engineering teams to improve product performance and technical documentation.
• Collect customer feedback and identify opportunities for product improvements.
• Support the localization of technical documentation for European markets.

4. Spare Parts & Operational Support

• Assist in establishing and improving spare parts management processes for the Spanish subsidiary.
• Coordinate technical resources and spare parts availability to ensure timely customer support.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Measurement & Control Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional proficiency in both English and Spanish.
• Knowledge or practical experience in at least one automotive manufacturing process, such as adhesive application, welding (MIG, MAG, laser), or assembly, or experience in industrial robot/PLC commissioning.
• Strong technical troubleshooting, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites across Europe.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with international teams.

Preferred:

• Previous experience with industrial machine vision systems.
• Hands‑on commissioning experience at automotive OEM production facilities.
• Familiarity with industrial robots, PLCs, or factory automation systems.
• Experience supporting automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or production line integrators.
