Job summary

Ardmac is seeking an Estimator to provide tender costs for construction projects, based at our Madrid office. You will prepare estimates for high-value fit-out works and ensure competitive bids while coordinating with clients, design teams and subcontractors.

The role requires five years of estimating experience, exposure to fit-out projects, and fluency in Spanish and English. Hybrid working is available in many roles within Ardmac.

Qualifications

• Five years' experience as an estimator with exposure to fit-out projects.
• Experience with data centre or cleanroom projects is desirable.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.
• Knowledge of pricing levels and negotiation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete estimates for fit-out projects within controlled environments.
• Organise tender documents and amendments for relevant parties.
• Ensure tendering processes are fully implemented and compliant.
• Liaise with clients and design teams during the tender process; arrange meetings as needed.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and design alternatives with the bid team.

About the Estimator Role

We are seeking an Estimator to provide tender costs for construction projects ensuring competitive bids. The position is based in our Madrid office.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Complete estimates for a range of fit out projects within controlled environment project sites
• Organise copy of tender documents and amendments for appropriate parties.
• Ensure tendering processes are fully implemented.
• Answering queries from subcontractors/suppliers.
• Liaise with Client/Design Team during tender process and arrange meeting if required.
• Identify scope for design alternatives and value engineering, discussing with appropriate bid team members.
• Attend Adjudication Meeting and present tender.
• Highlight any areas of concern / risk in cost proposal.
• Attend handover meeting and brief team on tender bid.
• Ensure supply chain is regularly refreshed in line with procurement / construction activities to meet the company’s needs.
• Develop client / specifier relationships to enhance opportunities to tender, negotiate and enhance tender margins.
• Complete Contract Sum Analysis/Schedule if necessary.
• Attend post tender negotiations with Client.
• Undertake project debrief, eliciting feedback from sites, to improve construction.
• Identification of project related risks.

What We’re Looking For

Five years' experience as an estimator with exposure to fit out projects; data centre or cleanroom project experience is desirable, but we can also consider experience in estimating ceilings / partitions / drywall packages.

Ability and knowledge of:

Fluency in Spanish and English is required in this role.
