IREN is seeking a Community Engagement & Social Impact Specialist based in Badajoz, Spain, to support permitting and environmental planning for its data center projects. The role coordinates ESG documentation with engineering, development, legal and external consultants, conducts EIA/AAI processes, and develops GIS-based maps to inform site selection and permitting.

Formación

• University degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Biology, Geography or related environmental discipline.
• Experience in preparing environmental studies and pre-feasibility studies for infrastructure or energy projects.
• Knowledge of environmental assessment procedures, authorisations, and Spain permitting processes.
• Technical/regulatory knowledge of air emissions, wastewater discharges, waste management, and noise control.

Responsabilidades

• Plan permit and authorisation processes, identify required documents and deadlines.
• Manage EIA and AAI procedures from application to decision and monitor conditions.
• Prepare and review environmental studies, reports, and appendices for permitting.
• Perform pre-feasibility studies for sites, assess planning instruments and constraints.
• Produce GIS maps and plans using GIS tools to support studies and applications.
• Liaise with public authorities and consultants, coordinating responses and information requests.
• Update permit matrices and track actions and milestones for each application.
• Assess impact of design/schedule changes on authorisations with project teams.
• Communicate permit conditions to construction and monitoring teams.
