Job summary

IREN, partnered with our client, is seeking a Environmental Technician to manage permitting and environmental planning for data centre projects in Spain. You will prepare studies, oversee EIA/AAI processes, and produce GIS maps to support site selection and approvals.

Reporting to ESG leadership, you will coordinate with engineering, development, legal, and external consultants, ensuring timely submissions and compliance. Strong GIS and bilingual Spanish/English skills are required.

Qualifications

• University degree in Environmental Sciences or related field.
• Experience in environmental studies and pre-feasibility studies for infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of Spain environmental permitting processes and building permits.
• Proficiency in GIS for mapping and data management.
• Professional proficiency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Plan permit and authorisation processes with stakeholders.
• Manage EIA/AAI procedures and monitor conditions.
• Prepare environmental studies, reports and appendices for permitting.
• Conduct pre-feasibility studies for potential sites and assess constraints.
• Produce GIS-based maps and thematic plans for applications.
• Coordinate with authorities, consultants and internal teams.
• Update permit matrices and document control records.
