Job summary

Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure Plc is seeking an Environmental & Energy Engineer Intern to join the Atlantica Corporate Resources team at Isla de la Cartuja. The role focuses on environmental permitting, energy data reporting, and ESG initiatives within a renewable energy framework.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, gain exposure to regulatory requirements, and contribute to continuous process improvements while developing in a dynamic, sustainability-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering or Energy Engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Environmental Permitting: assist with permit management and communications with authorities.
• Energy Management & Reporting: help with monthly data analysis and reporting.
• Environmental Compliance & Audits: gather information for internal audits and verify permits.
• Sustainability & ESG: support ESG initiatives and Equator Principles exposure.

Our current portfolio includes 40 renewable energy assets with a capacity of 2,048 MW, 343 MW of efficient natural gas-fired power, 1,229 miles of electric transmission lines, and other sustainable assets.

We are currently recruiting Environmental & Energy Engineer Intern to work with and strengthen our Atlantica Corporate Resources, S.L team based in the Isla de la Cartujaoffice.

Responsibilities

• Environmental Permitting: Support the management of environmental and energy permits, coordinating communications and documentation with public authorities, including environmental agencies, hydrographic confederations and industry regulators.
• Energy Management & Reporting: Assist with monthly reporting and data analysis related to electricity, natural gas and energy transportation, contributing to monthly closing activities and internal reporting processes.
• Environmental Compliance & Audits: Help prepare documentation and gather information for internal audits, ensuring environmental and energy permits meet applicable requirements.
• Sustainability & ESG: Support initiatives related to ESG requirements and the Equator Principles, gaining exposure to environmental and sustainability standards in the renewable energy industry.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with different teams to organize information, monitor compliance requirements and support the continuous improvement of internal processes.

Education

• Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related field.
