Canonical is seeking an Engineering Manager for the MAAS team to lead distributed software engineers across time zones. You will drive high-quality software on Linux, guide architectural decisions, and mentor the team in modern development practices.

The role supports work-from-anywhere in EMEA or the Americas, with travels to events and team gatherings. Strong leadership, English communication, and cloud-native experience are essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven experience delivering software using Python, Golang, or similar languages.
• Experience with Linux system administration (Debian/Ubuntu preferred).
• Familiarity with modern Linux cloud computing technologies, including networking, storage, containers and K8S.
• Professional English communication (written and spoken).
• Experience with agile software development methodologies.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a distributed team of engineers across time zones.
• Mentor, coach and develop team members; drive career planning.
• Set expectations with engineering teams and stakeholders; advocate modern software practices.
• Participate in code and architectural reviews; influence system design.
• Collaborate across Canonical teams (cloud-init, LXD, public cloud).
• Travel internationally 2–4 times a year for events or team gatherings.
