Kraken is seeking a senior engineering leader to build and scale the trading backend, including matching engines and data gateways. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic roadmap ownership across a globally distributed team.

You will work closely with product and platform teams to evolve the stack, drive performance improvements, and introduce AI-assisted engineering practices to accelerate delivery.

Formación

• Experience leading engineering teams with hands-on technical involvement.
• Hands-on in Rust/C++ (or Go/Python) in Linux environments.
• Knowledge of trading systems and financial products.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and grow an 8-10 engineer team owning core trading backend services (matching engine, data gateways, order entry).
• Guide evolution of the trading stack from legacy to modern replacements.
• Stay technically close enough to unblock and contribute to architecture discussions across components.
• Champion performance and market data as priorities while expanding technical scope.
• Introduce AI-assisted engineering practices into workflows for the team.
• Partner cross-functionally with product and other pods to drive roadmap execution.
