Ebury Madrid/Malaga hosts a Data Engineer - AI Platform to design and deliver the Agentic Data Plane within the Data Platform Engineering team. You will help build a unified, governed interfacing layer for AI and agentic products, ensuring governance, lineage and full replayability.

Formación

• Strong platform engineering experience building internal platforms used by other engineering teams.
• Solid API design and reliability, testing and operability foundations.
• Experience building secure systems with authentication/authorization, audit logs, least-privilege access, and governance controls.
• Hands-on production experience with Google Cloud Platform services, especially Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Run and Cloud Functions.
• Proficiency in Python for building platform services and tooling.
• Experience with agentic or LLM-based systems in production is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with data governance concepts like lineage, access controls, and data platforms.
• Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Build platform primitives for secure tool use coordination with centralized policy guardrails and audit logging with full replayability.
• Provide end-to-end observability for agentic products, including data dependencies, traces and evaluation signals.
• Integrate ADP with Data Platform foundations: catalog, metadata, data warehouse, and vector retrieval.
• Collaborate with domain teams to onboard pilot agents and promote platform standards.
• Drive innovation by evaluating LLMS, prompt safety and agent memory features in production.

Ebury's strategic growth plan would not be possible without our Data team and we are seeking an Data Engineer - AI Platform to join our Data Platform Engineering team!

Our mission is to develop, maintain and improve Ebury's Data Platform — and we are now extending that mission to build the Agentic Data Plane (ADP): a unified, governed interfacing layer for AI and agentic products that abstracts communication and access to data whilst enforcing governance, lineage, traceability, and full replayability.

As an AI Platform Engineer, you will work closely with the rest of the Data Platform team and cross‑functional domain teams to design and deliver the platform capabilities that let Ebury ship AI and agentic products safely and at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver core components of Ebury's Agentic Data Plane, including agent‑to‑agent (A2A) communication, the Agent Tool Registry, and governed data access layers
• Build platform primitives for secure tool use coordination, including "on behalf of" (OBO) patterns, centralized policy guardrails, and audit logging with full replayability
• Provide end‑to‑end observability for agentic products: data dependencies, traces, evaluation signals, and accountability as a day‑one requirement
• Integrate the ADP with the Data Platform's governed foundations — catalog, metadata, data warehouse, and vector retrieval
• Collaborate with domain teams to onboard pilot agents and help them adopt platform standards and runtime patterns
• Drive innovation and explore emerging technologies (LLM evaluation, prompt safety, agent memory) to enhance our AI platform capabilities

About you

• Self‑motivation and curiosity, with a desire to learn and grow in a fast‑paced environment, continuously improving both technical and business skills
• Platform engineering experience building internal platforms consumed by other engineering teams
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: API design, reliability, testing, and operability
• Experience building secure systems — authentication/authorization, audit logs, least‑privilege access, and governance controls
• Hands‑on experience operating production services on GCP, including services such as Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions
• Proficiency in Python for building platform services, data transformation, and tooling
• Experience with agentic or LLM‑based systems in production (evaluation, drift monitoring, prompt safety) is a strong plus
• Familiarity with data governance concepts — lineage, traceability, access controls — and data platform ecosystems is encouraged
• Fluency in English (Spanish, a plus)
