Job summary

Valeo is seeking an experienced Project Buyer to drive the sourcing lifecycle for electronics-focused projects. You will lead strategy, RFQs, and supplier selection, while managing risk and aligning with design and quality expectations across cross-functional teams in the Purchasing function.

You’ll work on milestones from sourcing to SOP, contributing to a sustainable mobility agenda with international exposure and impact on automotive programs.

Qualifications

• Requires an industrial degree or master’s in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of engineering experience, automotive knowledge desirable.
• Strong negotiation skills and English language mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Purchasing function in the project team and lead purchasing from sourcing to SOP and project closure.
• Define and execute sourcing plans; manage RFQs/Auctions and supplier selection based on compliance, capability, and bundling.
• Identify critical parts and assess supplier risks; develop mitigation and contingency plans.
• Coordinate Supplier Design Reviews and validate supplier requirements and improvements.
• Pilot the project purchasing index, drive productivity actions, and ensure forecasting accuracy for serial production.
• Ensure all sourcing decisions, contracts, and supplier docs are recorded in SAP, PuMa, with timely stakeholder sign-offs.
