Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is appointing a Director, Data Intelligence - Global Development in Madrid or Hyderabad. This leadership role builds a reusable intelligence capability across Global Development, turning AI-ready data into decision-ready outputs.

You will lead Decision Scientists, partner with Data Strategy, AI & Data Science, and product teams to accelerate analytics across studies and programs, with a strong focus on governance and value delivery.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in data science, statistics, operations research, biomedical informatics, computer science, life sciences or related discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology R&D, clinical development, advanced analytics, data products, decision science or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams and influencing across business, data science and technology organizations.
• Track record of translating complex business questions into reusable analytical or decision-support capabilities in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the Global Development Data Intelligence strategy and capability roadmap.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Decision Scientists across analytical enrichment, decision intelligence and agent enablement.
• Identify intelligence needs that recur across initiatives and translate them into reusable capabilities within data products.
• Set priorities and success measures for the capability and provide evidence of adoption and value to leadership.
• Lead the definition of reusable descriptive, predictive and prescriptive intelligence capabilities embedded in data products.
• Translate business questions into intelligence requirements, criteria, quality expectations and tests.
• Partner with AI & Data Science on model-based capabilities and ensure outputs are integrated into data products.
• Ensure intelligence capabilities are reusable across decisions, studies and programs.
• Establish approaches for capturing decision context, process knowledge, assumptions, constraints, and rationale.
• Partner with Data Products to model and govern decision knowledge.
• Create decision frameworks to improve consistency and transparency.
• Promote responsible, explainable use of decision intelligence with human oversight.
• Define business context and decision logic for AI assistants and agents.
• Partner with AI & Data Science on GenAI methods and governance.
• Define acceptance criteria and value measures for agent-enabled use cases.
• Ensure safe and reusable consumption of intelligence.
• Engage IT to align requirements with services, architecture and security.
• Provide business logic, intelligence specifications, decision frameworks to IT.
