Job summary

Zelestra seeks an experienced OT Engineer to own the digital scope of renewable plants (PV, BESS, and hybrid configurations). You will define digital architecture, supervise SCADA and EMS implementations, coordinate with EPCs and suppliers, and ensure grid-code compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in design, integration and commissioning of utility-scale control systems, plus strong knowledge of OT cybersecurity and industrial protocols.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Telecommunications, Industrial, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Language: English. B2 certification.
• Advanced knowledge of control and monitoring systems (SCADA, PPC, EMS).
• Advanced knowledge of industrial networks and protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC-104, IEC-61850, OPC).
• Knowledge of OT cybersecurity (IEC 62443) and field instrumentation and sensors for PV and BESS plants.
• Understanding of PV and BESS plant architecture from the digital integration perspective.
• Knowledge of EPC project execution and grid codes for energy storage/renewables.
• Planning and project follow-up tools (MS Project, Primavera).
• BESS standards and safety codes (IEC 62619, UL 9540/9540A, NFPA 855) valued.
• CCNA or similar certification valued.
• OT cybersecurity certs (IEC 62443, GICSP) or PMP valued.
• Wind project experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical owner of the digital scope of renewable plants: SCADA, networks, sensing and control; coordinate suppliers and internal teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Define the plant digital architecture ensuring consistency across PV, BESS and substations.
• Develop and review digital engineering across project phases: architectures, specs, I/O and network drawings.
• Design OT LAN/WAN topology, redundancy, switches, gateways and remote connectivity to the control center.
• Define sensing and instrumentation requirements and data quality criteria.
• Define the functional requirements of SCADA, PPC and EMS control and supervise their integration.
• Coordinate OT cybersecurity and IT: network segmentation and IEC 62443 compliance.
• Prepare technical specs and evaluate offers; manage suppliers and integrators.
• Lead commissioning of the digital scope including control center communications and grid tests.
• Support grid connection and grid code compliance with Utility and System Operator.
• Assist O&M in performance monitoring and obsolescence management.
• Contribute to OT/digital standards and templates; report to Head of OT Engineering.
