Giesecke+Devrient in Sant Joan Despí is seeking a DevOps Architect to guide deployment of the Filia CBDC solution across customers' on-prem, cloud or hybrid environments. You will define compute, storage, memory, and networking requirements, set up virtualization layers with VMs or Kubernetes, and lead IaC and GitOps initiatives.

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, SRE or architecture roles.
• 5+ years focused on production-scale Kubernetes and cloud platforms.
• Deep Kubernetes expertise including architecture, operators, CNI/service mesh, multi-cluster federation and upgrades at scale.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure; hybrid and on-prem integrations.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), GitOps, Docker and CI/CD, plus observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenTelemetry).
• Strong understanding of databases, networking, security best practices (RBAC, secrets, encryption, vuln scanning).
• Proven experience defining non-functional requirements and delivering highly available, performant, secure systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership, mentoring teams and influencing stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Understand customer infrastructure environments and translate requirements into infrastructure recommendations.
• Define compute, storage, memory and networking requirements.
• Architect and set up virtualization layer with VMs or Kubernetes clusters.

• Design redundancy and high-availability configurations.
• Architect integration between virtualized layer and non-VM environments (e.g., HSMs).
• Develop and own infrastructure and platform roadmap for scalability and cost efficiency.
• Define technical specs focusing on security, performance, HA, DR, reliability, observability and cost optimization.
• Champion IaC and GitOps using Terraform/OpenTofu, Pulumi, Helm, ArgoCD/Flux and Ansible.
• Mentor platform engineers, SREs, DevOps teams and developers.
• Produce and maintain ADRs, design blueprints, runbooks and guardrails.
• Identify and mitigate infrastructure risks (security, single points of failure, compliance, drift, cost overruns).

The Project

Within our Financial Platforms business, we offer Filia, our Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) solution portfolio, to central banks around the world.

As customers have different infrastructure environments and cloud adoption strategies, we are looking for a DevOps Architect who can understand their infrastructure context and provide technical guidance on how to prepare and deploy the infrastructure required to host the solution.

Depending on the customer, this can involve on-premises, cloud or hybrid environments, using bare metal, virtual machines or containers.

Your Responsibilities

• Understand customer infrastructure environments and translate solution requirements into appropriate infrastructure recommendations.
• Define compute, storage, memory and networking requirements for the solution.
• Architect and set up the required virtualization layer, which may include virtual machines or Kubernetes clusters, depending on the customer's environment.
• Set up the solution on top of the selected infrastructure.
• Provide guidance on networking and security, including network segmentation and firewalling.
• Design and advise on redundancy and high-availability configurations.
• Architect the integration between the virtualized infrastructure layer and technologies that do not run in a virtualized environment, such as Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
• Develop and own the infrastructure and platform roadmap, evaluating and recommending technologies and architectural patterns to support scalability, cost efficiency and agility.
• Define technical specifications with a strong focus on non-functional requirements, including security, performance, high availability, disaster recovery, reliability, observability and cost optimization.
• Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps practices using tools such as Terraform/OpenTofu, Pulumi, Helm, ArgoCD/Flux and Ansible.
• Act as a technical leader and mentor to platform engineers, SREs, DevOps teams and application developers.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including architecture decision records (ADRs), design blueprints, runbooks, standards and guardrails, and platform user guides.
• Proactively identify, assess and mitigate infrastructure risks, including security vulnerabilities, single points of failure, compliance gaps, operational drift and cost overruns.

Your Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, SRE or architecture roles, with 5+ years focused on production-scale Kubernetes and cloud platforms.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, including architecture, operators, CNI/service mesh, multi-cluster federation and upgrades at scale.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and Azure, as well as hybrid and on-premises integrations.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform, GitOps, Docker, CI/CD and observability technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK and/or OpenTelemetry.
• Solid understanding of databases (relational, NoSQL and distributed), networking (VPC, SDN, load balancing and firewalls) and security best practices (RBAC, secrets management, encryption and vulnerability scanning).
• Proven experience defining non-functional requirements and delivering highly available, performant and secure systems.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure redundancy and high-availability configurations.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring teams and influencing stakeholders.
