Vanderlande Industries seeks a Design Safety Engineer to lead safety compliance across mechanical, electromechanical, and controls systems in projects for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. You will guide project teams and suppliers, perform risk analyses, and ensure CE declarations throughout the lifecycle of packaging and material handling equipment.

Formación

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
• BSc/MSc in Engineering field.
• Understanding of machinery directive (2006/42/EC) and experience with safety standards (EN 619; ISO 13849-1/2; ISO 13850; ISO 14122-1 to -4; IEC 60204-1).
• CMSE (Certified Machine Safety Expert) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
• Competency in PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998).
• Experience in machine safety and related projects.
• Formal health, safety and environment qualification (CDM, IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS).
• Professionally Accredited with an engineering body or aiming to be.
• Experience in airport baggage handling or parcel systems preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Support a safe working environment and promote a safety-first culture.
• Guide multiple project teams and external suppliers to deliver safe system design solutions.
• Identify design safety risks via risk analysis and perform site inspections.
• Ensure lifecycle design safety from tender through decommissioning.
• Support team growth and development and share lessons learned.
• Audit design for conformance and provide declarations of conformance (CE).
• Provide regular status updates to management highlighting risks and solutions.
• Act as a trusted partner to customers and suppliers on machinery safety and compliance.
