McGregor Boyall in Madrid is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead end-to-end design across data centre and mission-critical projects. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage design quality and programme, oversee external consultants, and act as a key point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.

Alongside technical responsibilities, the role offers exposure to commercial management, contracts and project performance, providing a clear path to senior leadership.

Formación

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in design development and specification for complex building projects.
• Strong experience within data centres, mission-critical or similarly complex environments.
• Proven experience leading and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams across complex projects.
• Take ownership of design delivery from concept through to completion.
• Manage design programmes, technical coordination and quality assurance.
• Coordinate teams across different locations and time zones.
• Manage sub-consultants and external design packages.
• Monitor commercial and financial performance of design scopes.
• Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve technical and design issues throughout project delivery.
• Ensure designs meet relevant technical, planning, health & safety and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and develop junior and senior members of the design team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, best practice and knowledge sharing.

Are you an experienced Design Manager ready to take ownership of multidisciplinary design delivery across complex data centre and mission-critical projects?

This is a senior opportunity for a technically strong design professional who can lead teams, manage client relationships and ensure projects are delivered to a high standard from initial design through to completion.

The Role

As Design Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the end-to-end design function across your projects.

You’ll coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage design quality and programme, oversee external consultants and act as a key point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.

Alongside the technical responsibilities, the role offers significant exposure to commercial management, contracts and project performance, making it an opportunity to progress into senior leadership.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline
• Significant experience in design development and specification for complex building projects
• Strong experience within data centres, mission-critical or similarly complex environments
• Proven experience leading and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams
• Experience working across international or geographically distributed project teams
• Understanding of commercial project frameworks, contracts and project financial management
• Knowledge of relevant planning, health & safety and regulatory requirements
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities
• Professional membership or relevant chartership is desirable
