Job summary

KBR will sustain the operational well-being of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base (Spain) and other sites, coordinating cargo movement via DoD and commercial channels. The Freight Technician ensures cargo meets customer priorities and timelines in DoD delivery systems, and uses CMOS/GATES/IGC databases to document shipments.

Qualifications

• US Citizen requirement documented for the role.
• Experience in a DoD cargo/freight environment is required.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. SECRET security clearance.
• At least 2 years handling freight, bills of lading, and shipment records.
• Experience using CMOS for shipment documentation.
• Valid state driver’s license and forklift operation ability.

Responsibilities

• Receives inbound cargo from Base Supply or carriers and ensures proper in-checking.
• Packages outbound shipments and determines shipment mode per priorities.
• Proficient with shipment planning procedures and documentation.
• Completes DD Form 1149, DD Form 1384 and related DoD freight documents.
• Documents shipments in Cargo Operations Movement System (CMOS).
• Prepare, submit and monitor Transportation Discrepancies Reports (TDRs).
• Maintain Hazardous Material Preparer certification.
• Operate data processing equipment to transmit/receive transport data.
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment as required.
• Perform inspections and housekeeping of the building and equipment.
• Support U.S. Customs Border Clearance program as needed.
