InnoIT seeks a hands-on Data Scientist for an Applied AI project focused on intelligent document processing. You will combine traditional Data Science with Generative AI to turn complex documents into structured data, selecting the right approach and proving results with data.

You will work with AI Engineers, Product, and stakeholders to translate business needs into measurable problems and deliver production-ready solutions.

Formación

• 3 years of professional experience in Data Science, ML or Applied AI.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and Generative AI, including prompt engineering.
• Strong Python skills with testing, Git, and reproducible experiments.
• Solid NLP and ML knowledge with judgement on when not to use an LLM.
• Experience working with unstructured or semi-structured data.
• Fluent English.

Data Scientist --

We\'re looking for a hands-on Data Scientist to join an Applied AI project focused on intelligent document processing. The goal is to turn complex, unstructured business documents (multi-page files, tables, line items and variable layouts) into structured, reliable data the business can use. The role combines traditional Data Science with Generative AI. The key is choosing the right approach for each problem and proving with data that it works.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve solutions that extract structured information from complex, unstructured documents.


• Compare different approaches (LLMs, multimodal models/VLMs, OCR, NLP, classic Machine Learning or deterministic rules) and choose the best one for each problem.


• Build representative datasets, define ground truth, and set metrics and acceptance criteria.


• Analyze errors and biases, and run experiments to confirm whether a new version really improves on the previous one.


• Build automated evaluations and regression tests so performance doesn't drop when models or pipelines change.


• Develop clean, testable and reproducible Python code for data preparation, validation and post-processing.


• Document experiments, configurations and decisions.


• Work with AI Engineers to turn successful prototypes into production-ready solutions.


• Work with Product and stakeholders to translate business needs into measurable problems and explain results, limitations and trade-offs.

Requirements

• 3 years of professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning or Applied AI.


• Hands-on experience with LLMs and Generative AI, including prompt engineering and experimentation.


• Strong Python skills and good development practices: testing, Git, code review and reproducible experiments.


• Solid NLP and Machine Learning knowledge, with the judgment to know when not to use an LLM.


• Strong evaluation and statistics skills: building datasets, defining ground truth and metrics, and judging whether an accuracy improvement is statistically credible.


• Experience working with unstructured or semi-structured data (documents, text, etc.).


• Fluent English.


• Ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical audiences, and enough business understanding to judge whether a document extraction is correct.

• Azure Document Intelligence or other OCR tools.


• Azure OpenAI or Amazon Bedrock.


• Document classification and information extraction.


• NER (Named Entity Recognition).


• Multimodal models or Vision-Language Models (VLMs) applied to documents.
