Ryanair Labs is recruiting a Data Scientist to join Europe’s Largest Airline Group. The role sits in the BI team across Madrid, Dublin and Wroclaw, focusing on pricing, segmentation and forecasting.

You will apply ML techniques to forecast demand, analyse revenue impact, and present actionable insights to stakeholders, while mentoring peers and collaborating with cross-functional partners in a hybrid Madrid-based setting.

Formación

• Relevant Degree in Data Science (or similar); Masters/PhD preferred.
• 3+ years professional experience in Data Science positions.
• Commercial awareness; experience in a Commercial department; pricing experience desirable.
• Self-starter with initiative and diligence; able to work independently.
• Strong communication and ability to present to multiple teams.

Responsabilidades

• Scope and deliver analysis of performance metrics and identify the questions worth answering.
• Apply statistical techniques and ML algorithms to forecast demand and identify pricing opportunities.

Ryanair Labs are currently recruiting for a Data Scientist to join Europe’s Largest Airline Group!

Ryanair Labs is the technology brand of Ryanair. Labs is a state of-the-art digital & IT innovation hub creating Europe's Leading Travel Experience for our customers.

The role sits inside the BI team in Ryanair Labs. The BI team are made up of 95+ people split across the three Ryanair offices: Dublin, Madrid & Wroclaw. Within the BI team there is a range of different professions: Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Optimization Engineers, Data Modellers, BI Analysts, BI Reporters & BI Developers.

The Role:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced models and algorithms to optimise pricing strategies, segmentation or forecasting across the business.


• Work autonomously to scope and deliver analysis of performance metrics, identifying the questions worth answering rather than waiting to be handed them.


• Apply sophisticated statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to analyse historical data, forecast demand, and identify pricing and revenue opportunities.


• Conduct in-depth analysis of performance metrics, including revenue impact, price elasticity, and customer segmentation, to assess the effectiveness of strategies and drive continuous improvement.


• Communicate findings clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex analysis into decisions stakeholders can act on.


• Mentor and collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners, providing guidance on best practices, analytical methodologies, and data visualisation techniques.

Requirements

• Relevant Degree in field of Data Science (or similar), Masters/PhD preferable.


• 3+ years professional experience in Data Science positions.


• The candidate must be commercially astute and be able to recognise the value of projects. Commercial value added is a key component of job performance. Experience working in Commercial department is essential. Experience in product pricing is desirable.


• Be a self-starter and consistently show initiative & diligence on a daily basis. The team is built up of people who generate ideas and show initiative in the work they do.


• Communication skills – most projects involve multiple people across various teams in different departments across the three offices. The role will involve regular presentations.

Tech Requirements:

• Strong Python and SQL experience is a necessity.


• Experience with Databricks.


• Basic knowledge of a cloud provider.


• Ability to build and deploy predictive models. An understanding of and experience with the following is required: Machine Learning topics (clustering, forecasting, classification, anomaly detection).


• Experience using Gen AI to assist in your day to day tasks.


• Ability to quickly put together slide decks that summarize your analysis, and clearly tell a story. Have expertise in designing a range of styles of slide decks for varying audiences.
