Metyis Madrid is seeking a Data Science Analyst with 2+ years of experience to join our international Data and Analytics team, based in Madrid.

You will design and maintain data pipelines in Palantir Foundry, implement data models, and collaborate with data scientists to turn business needs into scalable solutions for clients worldwide.

Fluency in Spanish and English is required; you will interact with senior stakeholders and contribute to a fast-growing, diverse team.

Formación

• 2+ years of professional experience in Data Science or Data Engineering in production.
• Strong Python expertise with modular, readable code and Pandas.
• Hands-on PySpark experience with DataFrames, joins, and Spark internals.
• Advanced SQL skills (CTEs, window functions, optimization).
• Experience with at least one cloud data platform (e.g., Palantir Foundry, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Understanding of Git and collaborative workflows.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build data pipelines in Palantir Foundry from ingestion to consumption datasets.
• Evolve the Foundry Data Model and Ontology for customer use cases.
• Translate functional business requirements into technical solutions, estimating effort.
• Ensure data quality: validations and health checks, unit tests, schema control and build monitoring.
• Optimize the performance and resource consumption of transformations (Spark, partitioning).
• Build consumption layers and lightweight analytic apps on Foundry when needed.
• Apply software engineering best practices: version control, code review, deployment automation.
• Collaborate with the client's data and IT teams for access and integration.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines in Palantir Foundry (Pipeline Builder and/or Code Repositories with Python/PySpark), from source ingestion to consumption datasets.

• Implement and evolve the Foundry Data Model and Ontology (object types, relationships, and actions) for customer use cases.

• Translate functional business requirements into technical solutions, estimating effort and documenting design decisions.

• Ensure data quality: validations and health checks, unit tests, schema control and build monitoring.

• Optimize the performance and resource consumption of transformations (partitioning, incremental processing, efficient use of Spark).

• Build consumption layers and lightweight analytic applications on Foundry (Workshop, Contour, Quiver) when the use case requires it.

• Apply software engineering best practices: version control, code review, branch strategy, cross-environment promotion, and deployment automation.

• Collaborate with the client's data and IT teams for access, incorporation of new sources and commissioning.

What you will bring

• 2+ years of professional experience in Data Science or Data Engineering in real production environments.

• Strong technical expertise in Python, with proficiency in modular and readable code, data structures, object-oriented programming, Pandas, dependency management, and automated testing.

• Hands-on experience with Py-Spark including the DataFrames API, joins, window functions, aggregations, partitioning, and understanding the distributed execution model.

• Advanced level of SQL like CTEs, window functions, query optimization, and analytical modelling.

• Experience with at least one cloud data platform or lakehouse, such as Palantir Foundry, Databricks, Fabric/Synapse, Snowflake, BigQuery, or a similar platform.

• Understanding of Git and collaborative work in shared repositories with code review.

• Ability to work with ambiguous requirements, ask the right questions of the business, and turn them into a data model.

• Fluency in Spanish and English.
