Blu Selection is recruiting for a Microsoft Data Engineer / Data Analyst to join a freelance project in Barcelona. You will bridge data engineering, analytics, and governance to design, build, and optimize trusted data solutions within an agile environment using Microsoft and Databricks.

You will develop data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, dashboards in Power BI, and contribute to data governance and Unity Catalog initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data

Formación

• Proven experience in hybrid Data Engineering, Data Analytics, and Governance roles.

You will work within an agile environment combining Microsoft and Databricks architecture to power advanced reporting, analytics, and future AI capabilities.

AND WHAT'S MY ROLE IN THIS?

As Microsoft Data Engineer / Data Analyst, you will bridge data engineering, analytics, and governance to design, build, and optimize trusted data solutions.

• Support the evolution of the modern data platform across Microsoft and Databricks technologies
• Design and maintain robust data models and underlying data structures
• Build and optimize data integration and transformation pipelines using Dataflows and Databricks SQL
• Develop and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models
• Support data migration and platform modernization initiatives leveraging Dataverse and Databricks
• Implement data governance, metadata management, and data quality best practices
• Support Unity Catalog adoption, data lineage, and access management
• Collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams to deliver actionable data solutions

OK, AND WHAT DO YOU NEED?

• Proven experience in a hybrid Data Engineering, Data Analytics, and Governance role
• Technical mastery of Power BI (Data Modeling, DAX, Power Query)
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Databricks SQL
• Hands-on expertise with Databricks and Dataverse ecosystems
• Solid experience in Data Integration and ETL/ELT pipeline design
• Demonstrated experience in Data Governance, metadata management, and Unity Catalog
• Strong understanding of data architecture and analytics best practices
• Fluent level of English (mandatory)
