Job summary

Ytech is seeking a Data Engineer to join a challenging data-driven project in a hybrid model (3 days on-site per week) in Salamanca, Spain. You will design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and APIs to support business operations and decision-making.

Fluency in English and strong collaboration skills are essential to engage with stakeholders across teams. You will work with Python-based data processing, SQL databases, REST and SOAP APIs, and modern tools like dbt and Git in an Agile

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Experience in the Financial Services sector preferred.
• Knowledge of Data Architecture and Data Modeling.
• Experience with Python for data-oriented programming.
• Experience integrating REST and SOAP APIs in ETL processes.

Responsibilities

• Participate in requirements refinement and design data solutions.
• Develop data pipelines, processing workflows, and APIs within the data platform.
• Perform development testing and document results.
• Support SIT and production deployments.
• Analyze and resolve production incidents in data pipelines.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation in User Stories and Data Catalog.

What's the challenge we have for you?

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days on-site per week)

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a challenging project in the Data Engineering field, contributing to the design, development, and implementation of scalable data solutions, ensuring efficient data integration, processing, and management to support business operations and decision-making.

What will you do?

• Participate in requirements refinement and design technical solutions aligned with business needs, following the client's data standards and frameworks;


• Develop and implement data pipelines, data processing workflows, and APIs using the technologies available within the data platform;


• Perform development testing, ensuring proper validation and documentation of test results;


• Support QA teams during System Integration Testing (SIT) and take responsibility for production deployments;


• Analyze and resolve production incidents related to existing data pipelines and REST APIs;


• Take ownership of technical documentation, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information in User Stories and the Data Catalog.

What are we looking for?

• At least 3 years of experience in Data Engineering;


• Previous experience in the Financial Services sector (preferred);


• Good knowledge of Data Architecture and Data Modeling;


• Experience with data-oriented Python programming, following a functional programming approach;


• Experience working with relational databases and SQL;


• Experience integrating and consuming REST APIs within data pipelines and ETL processes;


• Experience integrating and consuming SOAP APIs within data pipelines and ETL processes;


• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD practices, and multi-branch development strategies;


• Experience with dbt (Data Build Tool) (highly valued);


• Knowledge or experience with Apache Spark (nice to have);


• Experience developing Data APIs (nice to have).
