Acid Tango is a digital product studio based in Madrid seeking a Data Engineer to build and evolve modern observability platforms. You will instrument applications, collect technical and business metrics, and develop ETL processes for operational data used by engineering and business teams.

You will work with Python, Java and TypeScript services, leverage Datadog and OpenTelemetry, and contribute to defining KPIs, SLIs and SLOs while collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders.

Formación

• 4+ years of experience in Data/Platform/Observability engineering or similar roles.
• Hands-on experience with Datadog including APM, metrics, dashboards and tracing.
• Experience instrumenting applications for technical and business metrics.
• Strong knowledge of OpenTelemetry and Datadog SDKs.
• Experience defining SLIs, SLOs and operational KPIs.
• Solid understanding of structured logging and metrics collection.
• Good knowledge of AWS services and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with Python; familiarity with Java and/or TypeScript is a plus.

We\'re currently looking for a Data Engineer to join our team. You\'ll help build and evolve modern observability platforms that provide visibility into complex distributed systems. You\'ll work on instrumentation, monitoring, metrics, logging, and data pipelines that enable engineering teams and business stakeholders to make better decisions based on reliable operational data.

What you\'ll do

• Design and implement observability solutions using Datadog and OpenTelemetry.
• Instrument applications to collect technical and business metrics.
• Build dashboards and monitoring solutions that provide actionable insights for engineering and business teams.
• Define and implement KPIs, SLIs and SLOs in collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.
• Design structured logging strategies and metrics collection pipelines.
• Analyze logs, traces and metrics to improve system reliability and performance.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes for observability and operational data when required.
• Work closely with software engineers to improve application instrumentation across Python, Java and TypeScript services.
• Help evolve our cloud monitoring capabilities on AWS.
• Promote observability best practices across projects.

What we\'re looking for

• 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Platform Engineer, Observability Engineer or similar role.
• Hands-on experience with Datadog, including APM, Custom Metrics, Dashboards and Distributed Tracing.
• Experience instrumenting applications for both technical and business metrics.
• Strong knowledge of OpenTelemetry and Datadog SDK.
• Experience defining and implementing SLIs, SLOs and operational KPIs.
• Solid understanding of structured logging and metrics collection.
• Good knowledge of AWS services and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with Python.
• Familiarity with Java and/or TypeScript is a plus.
• Experience working with Git and Linux environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience building ETL pipelines.
• Experience with Power BI or similar visualization tools.
• Knowledge of traffic management and communication between distributed services.
• Experience working with CloudWatch and integrating AWS monitoring with Datadog.
• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders to define operational KPIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architectures.
