Hamilton Barnes is seeking a maintenance technician with electrical maintenance expertise for a long-term data center project near Barcelona, Spain. The role combines knowledge of electrical and cooling systems to ensure uptime in a demanding environment, with hands-on tasks and training in data centre operations.

Formación

• Qualifications in electricity or HVAC or maintenance engineering.
• Experience maintaining critical facilities and data centers.

Responsabilidades

• Perform and oversee preventive, corrective, and operational maintenance of key data center systems.
• Electrical systems: low/medium/high voltage, UPS, generators, lighting.
• Security systems: fire detection/extinguishing, CCTV, access control.
• Monitor control room operations and ensure continuous system performance.
• Support reliability and safety through accurate reporting and documentation.

We are looking for a maintenance technician with experience in electrical maintenance (high voltage, medium voltage and low voltage) for a long-term project in a data center near Barcelona.

This role focuses on ensuring the smooth, reliable, and efficient operation of a state-of-the-art data center.

This is a hands on position where you'll combine your knowledge of electrical and cooling systems to maintain uptime in a demanding technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee preventive, corrective, and operational maintenance of key data center systems:
• Electricity (low voltage, medium voltage, high voltage, UPS, generators, lighting)
• Security (fire detection/extinguishing, CCTV, access control)
• Monitor operations from the control room and take the necessary steps to ensure continuous system performance
• Support reliability and safety standards through accurate reporting and maintenance documentation

Skills and experience required:

• Expertise in maintaining critical facilities
• Strong know-how in electrical systems and cooling technologies.
• Knowledge of fire detection and extinguishing systems and security systems (PCI, CCTV, CCAA).
• Valid driving licence and access to one's own vehicle.
• Professional or technical qualification in electricity, air conditioning or maintenance engineering.
• Relative Training: A Higher Degree in Electricity, an Intermediate Degree in Electricity
