Maersk in Valencia, Spain is seeking a Customs Declarant to join our international team, handling import/export declarations and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role emphasizes accuracy, timeliness, and proactive communication with customers and authorities.

You will coordinate with carriers and internal stakeholders to maintain smooth shipment flows, while leveraging digital tools and MS Office to improve productivity and service quality. Fluent English is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and submit import, export, and transit customs declarations, ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
• Manage customs clearance activities and coordinate with customers, customs authorities, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
• Review customs and transport documentation, resolve operational and customs-related issues, and ensure smooth shipment flows.
• Provide excellent customer service through proactive communication via email, phone, and Microsoft Teams while meeting operational deadlines and quality standards.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in customs clearance, import/export operations, logistics, or related fields.
• Knowledge of customs regulations, customs procedures, and customs declaration preparation.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Interest in digital tools, automation, and AI solutions (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to improve productivity and service quality.
• Strong attention to detail, customer-focused communication skills, and a proactive mindset with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
