Job summary

SLS Barcelona is seeking a Cost Controller to join the Finance team. Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Finance, you’ll support hotel financial operations, manage assets, and maintain a centralized accounting environment.

Responsibilities include recording goods deliveries and F&B costs, enforcing cost control procedures, updating costings, performing month-end close tasks, monitoring inventory, and ensuring accuracy of reports and cash reconciliations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business administration or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a hotel accounting department.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Manage and record goods deliveries in the General Ledger.
• Record F&B costs and update costings in the system.
• Adhere to cost control procedures and ensure proper authorisation.
• Participate in month-end reporting and stock monitoring.
• Ensure internal controls and reconcile daily cash deposits.

What you’ll do

We are looking for a Cost Controller to join the team at SLS Barcelona. Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Finance, you’ll support the Finance department on the financial operations of the hotel while managing hotel assets and ensuring a centralized accounting environment.

• Manage and record goods deliveries.
• Record of F&B costs into the General Ledger System.
• Adhere to all cost control procedures (where applicable create new procedures).
• Update costings.
• Ensure compliance with documentation/authorisation processes.
• Process F&B accruals.
• Monitor inventories of F&B to increase inventory turnover.
• Participate in month end reporting procedures in relation to F&B stock and other tasks.
• Carry out weekly stock takes and evaluating potentials.
• Help with and maintain purchasing agreements.
• Maintain purchase system and ensure all items are up to date.
• To check and verify all reconciled inventory reports with book balance, actual count and unit costs. Troubleshoot if necessary.
• To be sure, all the cost reports, daily, monthly, and yearly, are prepared and submitted on time.
• Verify and reconcile daily cash deposits against PMS reports
• Coordinate withdrawals and change orders
• Ensure internal controls are followed to prevent fraud or theft

What we are looking for...

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business administration or related field.
• +2 years of experience in a hotel’s accounting department.
• Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
