Messer SE & Co. KGaA in Tarragona, Spain, is seeking a Cooling Water Engineer (m/f/d) for its Corporate Engineering team to design, install and commission cooling water pumps, heat exchangers and towers, and optimize water treatment processes.

You will manage chemical dosing, corrosion control and instrumentation, perform water analyses, and collaborate with production and maintenance to ensure safe, compliant operations and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Must have degree in Chemical/Process/Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Experience with cooling water treatment, water chemistry or industrial utilities.
• Knowledge of corrosion control and biocide management.
• Good communication in English; German a plus.

Responsabilités

• Design, procurement, installation and commissioning of cooling water systems (pumps, heat exchangers, towers).
• Manage and optimize chemical dosing and water treatment.
• Conduct water analyses and derive corrective actions.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance and external service providers.
• Prepare operating procedures, risk assessments and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (VDI 2047 and local regulations).

Your Responsibilities

• Good communication skills in English; German is an advantage
