Metric Dcx is seeking a Construction Director to oversee hyperscale data centre projects across EMEA. This senior leadership role drives construction strategy, contractor performance, and operational excellence from pre-construction through commissioning and handover.

You will lead multiple projects, manage General Contractors, coordinate with Development, Design, Engineering, Procurement, and Operations, and report to senior leadership with forecasts and risk insights.

Formación

• 10+ years of experience delivering large-scale hyperscale data centre projects.
• Client-side leadership experience preferred.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.

• Provide project reporting, forecasting, and strategic updates to senior leadership.
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with technical, commercial, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor Project Managers and promote best practices across the construction function.

Role Overview

We are supporting a leading global data centre developer in the appointment of a Construction Director to oversee the delivery of hyperscale data centre projects across EMEA. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving construction strategy, project execution, contractor performance, and operational excellence from pre-construction through commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of multiple hyperscale data centre projects across EMEA.
• Manage General Contractors, consultants, and key project stakeholders.
• Oversee programme, budget, quality, safety, and risk throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive contractor performance, commercial delivery, and change management.
• Collaborate with Development, Design, Engineering, Procurement, Commissioning, and Operations teams.
• Provide project reporting, forecasting, and strategic updates to senior leadership.
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with technical, commercial, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor Project Managers and promote best practices across the construction function.

Requirements

• 10+ years' experience delivering large-scale hyperscale or mission-critical data centre projects, ideally working client-side for a data centre owner, developer, operator, or hyperscaler.
• Strong track record managing General Contractors and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Experience leading projects from pre-construction through commissioning and operational handover.
• Excellent programme, commercial, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong leadership with the ability to drive performance across multiple concurrent projects.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
