As a Commissioning Engineer, you will play a key role in assisting with the management and delivery of the commissioning process, including leading on‑site functional testing. To succeed in this role, it is important that you demonstrate strong communication and people skills, resourcefulness, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure. You will provide hands‑on and tactical support for building services commissioning management to the project team throughout the engineering process, from conception to completion, primarily on Mission Critical projects. Our focus is on teamwork, and our philosophy is to be part of the solution, not the problem. We are committed to quality in all aspects of commissioning management, including planning, programming, reporting, collaborative working, witnessing, and smooth handovers to FM teams.
To assist the Sygna Commissioning Managers in their day‑to‑day activities to include but not limited to witnessing on site testing and commissioning, review of design/testing certification and method statements, input into the project tracking matrix inclusive of AIR, input into commissioning meetings, input into the 2 week lookahead and sub‑contractor liaison. Excellent IT, planning, and reporting skills are essential.
Support the Mission Critical team with reviewing and assisting contractors / sub‑contractors in the development of all project‑related QA/QC documentation, providing technical input to the formal change control processes. Reviewing the commissioning procedures, commissioning RAMS prior to commissioning activities and commissioning data against design parameters implementing any mitigation of recovery plans.
Assist with authoring functional/IST test scripts, compiling ‘Close‑out’ documentation and final Cx Reports, and creating and managing Handover Commissioning checklists.
Assist with monitoring and advising when all the commissioning documentation has been reviewed and signed off to the appointed consultants for the project.
Support with ensuring that all plant/systems have been fully commissioned/inspected in line with the contract specifications, all appropriate commissioning handover documentation has been reviewed prior to handover and comment on O&M manuals produced by the contractor. Key Responsibility: You will attend commissioning meetings. Make sure that commissioning defects are communicated properly and dealt with. Ensure all parties are co‑ordinated for attending witnessing and assist Lead or Commissioning Manager on‑site functional testing.
Attend and report on commissioning and testing as appropriate. Support with issuing the weekly commissioning reports, by providing the relevant information to the lead.
Ensure that you always follow Sygna's Health & Safety systems and local project requirements. Ensure that you maintain relevant health and safety records to meet regulatory standards and company policies.
Follow internal Sygna company policies and any project specific requirements.
