LyondellBasell Industries in Tarragona seeks a Colourist to join our Technical Center. The role involves color matching polypropylene compounds for automotive applications, selecting pigments, mixing and extruding blends, and evaluating color using visual and spectrometric methods.
You will calibrate colorimeter data, maintain pigment recipes and color standards databases, and support internal/external inquiries as part of our color development team.

We are looking for a person with availability to fill a permanent vacancy in our Technical Center in Tarragona. This is the department in charge of performing product development of polypropylene compounds for the automotive industry.
Perform a color match against a customer standard or reference (from automotive OEMs) by mixing several pigments combinations into a polypropylene matrix and evaluate the color match by visual and by spectrometric assessment
Area of Expertise.
Visual colors assessment. Knowledge of colorimetry and pigments.
Education
Vocational training in chemistry or laboratory analysis or University degree related to chemistry.
Specific training in colorimetry.
Work Experience
Verifiable experience of at least four years working as a colorist.
Experience in laboratory, analysis, operation of plastic processing machines, knowledge of operation of equipment related to extrusion and mixing of polymeric materials.
Languages
Spanish and a fluent English level (written and spoken), French shallbe an added value.
Other skills
Microsoft Office and manage analysis and testing equipment.
Ability to perform visual color differentiation (Farnsworth test).
Teamworking.
Safe handling of equipment.
Sense of safety, quality and accuracy applied in all aspects of their work.
