Reuters News & Media in Barcelona is seeking a Cloud Media Solutions Engineer to design, deploy, and support media production and content delivery solutions across broadcast, cloud, and AI-enabled workflows.

You will collaborate with Editorial, Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams to modernize media workflows, improve efficiency, and enable global content distribution. Travel internationally and continuous learning are encouraged.

Reuters News & Media, part of Thomson Reuters, is looking for a Media Solutions Engineer to join our TV Solutions team in Barcelona. Working across broadcast, cloud, streaming, and AI technologies, you'll help design, implement, and support solutions that power Reuters' global video production and content delivery operations. Partnering with engineering, editorial, operations, and product teams, you'll modernize media workflows, drive innovation, and improve how content is acquired, managed, and distributed worldwide.

About the Role

As a Cloud Media Solutions Engineer, you will:

• Evaluate, design, and deploy media production, broadcast, and content delivery solutions using a combination of commercial platforms and internally developed applications.
• Lead the implementation and modernization of broadcast and streaming workflows, including IPTV, cloud-based media services, and emerging contribution and distribution technologies.
• Contribute to the evolution of cloud-based media workflows and services by assessing and integrating scalable media workflows that improve operational efficiency, resiliency, and business agility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Editorial, Engineering, DevOps, Support, Real Estate, Finance, and Technology teams to gather requirements and deliver business solutions.
• Manage technical projects and vendor engagements, ensuring successful delivery through effective planning, communication, risk management, and reporting.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies in the areas of broadcast, cloud, AI, streaming, and media operations to support Reuters' innovation strategy.
• Utilize AI-enabled tools and approaches to accelerate problem resolution, automate workflows, improve knowledge management, and enhance operational effectiveness.

About You

You’rea fit for the role ofCloud Media Solutions Engineer if your background includes:

• 5+ years of experience in broadcast engineering, media technology, television production, or related media environments.
• Hands-on experience with media production and broadcast systems, including video, audio, contribution, distribution, monitoring, or newsroom workflows.
• Applicable knowledge of cloud technologies and media workflows, with experience supporting or deploying solutions on platforms such as AWS.
• Experience with streaming and IP-based media technologies, including protocols such as SRT, RIST, LRT, etc.; familiarity with NDI, DANTE and related technologies is advantageous.
• Demonstrated project delivery skills, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives, vendors, stakeholders, and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams in a global organization.
• A passion for innovation and continuous learning, including an interest in leveraging AI technologies to enhance media operations and business processes.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally
