ACCEL Schools is seeking an Instructional Aide for Toledo Preparatory Academy in Toledo, OH. The role supports teachers, helps plan activities, and assists with school events while promoting a positive classroom climate.

The position requires an associate degree or 2 years of college or Paraprofessional’s Exam, proficiency in MS Office, and the ability to lift 25–40 lbs. BCI/FBI check is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or the Paraprofessional’s Exam is required.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Successful completion of a BCI/FBI check is required.
• Ability to meet educational standards as applicable.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Confidential information management capability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25–40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups of students and follows instructional plans.
• Helps plan classroom activities and supports the Teacher in student and parent relations.
• Assists with school activities (parent nights, meetings, assemblies, fundraisers, chaperoning, etc.).
• Performs clerical duties (grading papers, making copies).
• Assists the Teacher with the use of classroom technology.
• Helps maintain cleanliness of classrooms, lunchroom, and other areas.
• Adheres to the school’s philosophy and mission in all activities.
• Performs other duties including field trips, morning/ dismissal/ lunch duties.
