Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC International is seeking a Commercial D&O and FI Claims Manager for our Barcelona office. You will lead a team responsible for UK Commercial D&O and FI claims within our Financial Lines Claims function.

Native English speaker with people management experience will oversee claims at all adjustment stages, mentor staff, and collaborate with UK underwriting teams on renewals, trends, and events. Travel to events and conferences is expected.

Qualifications

• Native level English.
• People management experience.
• D&O or FI claims adjusting experience.
• Familiarity with ECF and other London market practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team handling UK Commercial D&O and FI claims and oversee claims through all stages of adjustment.
• Monitor claims developments and report to senior management.
• Identify and track claims trends impacting the book and market.
• Lead communication with UK D&O and FI underwriting teams on claims and trends.
• Participate in audits and provide claims related training.
• Speak at internal and external claims related events and attend external talks and conferences.
• Travel for claims meetings, internal events and marketing events.
• Assist UK underwriters with renewal presentations and pitches for new business.
• Conduct performance evaluations and team strategy planning.

Description

As Commercial D&O and FI Claims Manager reporting to the Financial Lines Head of Claims in our Barcelona office, you will lead a team responsible for UK Commercial D&O and FI claims within our wider Financial Lines Claims function.

Responsibilities

• Management of a team handling UK Commercial D&O and FI (D&O, PI and Crime) claims.
• Handling a portfolio of UK Commercial D&O and FI claims and leading and overseeing the handling of claims by team members through all stages of adjustment.
• Monitor claims developments and report on them internally to senior management.
• Identify and track claims trends impacting the book and/or wider market.
• Lead communication and engagement with UK D&O and FI underwriting teams on individual claims, wording issues and claims trends.
• Participate in audits.
• Provide claims related training.
• Speak at internal and external claims related events.
• Attend external talks and conferences.
• Travel for claims meetings, internal events, conferences and marketing events.
• Assist UK underwriters with the preparation of renewal presentations and pitches for new business.
• Conduct performance evaluations

Requirements

• Native level English.
• People management experience.
• D&O or FI claims adjusting experience, gained either in-house or for a law firm or as a loss adjuster.
• Applicants with other relevant insurance industry or legal work experience considered.
• Familiarity with ECF and other London market practices and procedures.
