Job summary

Santander is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer - Tech Risk & Cybersecurity to lead cyber risk governance and secure the Data & AI framework. Based in Madrid (Boadilla del Monte) with a hybrid work model, the role drives secure innovation, resilience, and regulatory alignment across the division.

The CISO will partner with executives to manage cyber risk, guide security strategy, and ensure safe deployment of AI technologies while upholding Group policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in senior cybersecurity or technology risk roles.
• Experience operating in large, regulated environments.
• Degree in Engineering, CS, Information Security or related field; relevant certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise senior leadership on cyber risk, governance, and resilience.
• Ensure cybersecurity governance, risk oversight, and regulatory compliance; provide exec-level reporting.
• Lead implementation of security controls and risk-based prioritization across Data & AI initiatives.
• Collaborate with Risk, Legal, Audit, Privacy, Tech, and Business to align security strategy.
