W3Global is seeking a Business Analyst & Solution Designer for a hybrid role in Madrid, Spain. You will collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex risk and financial requirements into actionable analytics solutions, focusing on Power BI dashboards and semantic models.

You will design data mappings, define KPIs, and ensure governance while supporting UAT, deployment, and continuous improvement across BI workstreams.

• Proven experience as BI analyst/solution designer.
• Strong data modeling and KPI definition skills.
• Experience migrating BI platforms to Power BI is a plus.

Detailed JD-

Business Analysis & Solution Design

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and validate complex risk and financial business requirements, processes, data mappings, and KPI definitions.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and documentation.
• Challenge and refine requirements to identify effective and scalable analytical solutions.
• Act as a bridge between business teams and data engineering teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Semantic Modeling & Power BI Development

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI semantic models using dimensional modeling and star-schema principles where appropriate.
• Define and standardize business metrics, KPIs, and reporting logic.
• Build and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics capabilities.
• Develop and optimize complex DAX calculations to ensure performance and scalability.
• Implement and maintain Row-Level Security (RLS) in alignment with governance and access-control requirements.

Quality Assurance & Delivery Support

• Perform data validation and reconciliation activities with data owners and technical teams.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, issue management, evidence tracking, and stakeholder communication.
• Support report releases and deployments, leveraging Power BI Service capabilities and deployment pipelines where applicable.
• Monitor solution quality and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Reporting Governance & User Enablement

• Contribute to reporting governance standards, workspace organization, ownership models, and access management.
• Maintain clear documentation for data models, measures, business rules, and reporting assets.
• Facilitate knowledge-transfer sessions and user enablement activities to encourage adoption and effective use of BI solutions.
• Promote best practices for report design, maintainability, and analytical consistency.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills in multicultural and international business environments.
• Engage effectively with stakeholders across different functions, regions, and seniority levels.
• Facilitate workshops, requirements-gathering sessions, and solution reviews with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Build trusted relationships and influence decision-making through clear, data-driven communication.

Preferred Experience & Additional Skills

• Experience supporting BI modernization or migration initiatives, including transitions from Tableau, SAP BusinessObjects, or similar platforms to Power BI.
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis, troubleshooting, and validation activities.
• Familiarity with GitHub or similar version-control practices for BI development.
• Experience using tools such as Figma for mock ups design.
• Exposure to Databricks, Lakehouse architectures, and modern cloud-based analytics platforms.
• Experience in insurance or finance sectors.

Languages

• English: C1 level or equivalent (required).
• Spanish: B2 level or equivalent (required).
