Job summary

IREN is seeking a BIM Manager in Madrid to lead BIM coordination, model quality, and information exchanges for its Spain data center project, ensuring coordinated, reliable digital information across design, construction, commissioning, handover, and operations.

You will implement BIM standards, manage clash detection, and oversee the common data environment, coordinating CSA, MEP, security, networking, and controls teams to support timely decisions.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years BIM management/coordination experience in data centers or large-scale projects.
• Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Building Services Engineering, Digital Construction, or a related discipline.
• Certifications in BIM management or ISO 19650 are advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of BIM execution plans, model coordination, CDEs, clash detection, and federated models.
• Experience coordinating CSA, MEP, security, networking, controls, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage BIM coordination activities for the Badajoz data center using BIM execution plans and information requirements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary models across CSA, MEP, security, networking, controls, commissioning, operations.
• Run clash detection, model reviews, coordination meetings, and issue tracking to resolve conflicts.
• Manage day-to-day information management within the common data environment and oversee submissions, reviews, and metadata.
• Support construction, commissioning, and handover by ensuring BIM data reflects design information and asset details.
• Review deliverables for data quality, as-built information, COBie-type data, and digital handover packages.
• Prepare BIM reports, issue registers, dashboards, and lessons learned for leadership and stakeholders.
• Contribute to digital delivery improvement and alignment with sustainability and high-performance standards.

We have partnered with our client in their search for a BIM Manager, based in Madrid, Spain.

Job Description

The BIM Manager is responsible for managing BIM coordination, model quality, information exchanges, and digital delivery workflows for IREN’s Spain data center, ensuring that design, construction, commissioning, handover, and operations stakeholders work with coordinated, accurate, and reliable digital information. The role supports the implementation of BIM standards, model coordination routines, clash management processes, collaboration platforms, and project information requirements to enable the delivery and future operation of a large-scale, high-performance, renewable-powered data center environment.

This role contributes to the successful development and operation of the Badajoz data center by coordinating multidisciplinary models, monitoring BIM deliverables, supporting design and construction decision-making, managing model review cycles, maintaining information management routines, and helping prepare accurate digital asset information for commissioning, handover, maintenance, lifecycle management, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the DC Engineering Manager, the BIM Manager is responsible for:

• Manage BIM coordination activities for the Badajoz data center by applying BIM execution plans, information requirements, modelling standards, naming conventions, level of information need, collaboration workflows, and digital delivery processes defined for the project.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary models across CSA, MEP, security, networking, controls, commissioning, operations, consultants, contractors, and vendors by ensuring models are integrated, updated, clash-resolved, constructible, and suitable for design and construction decision-making.
• Run clash detection, model reviews, coordination meetings, issue tracking, and action follow-up by using BIM coordination tools and structured workflows to support timely resolution of design and construction conflicts.
• Manage day-to-day information management routines within the common data environment by controlling model submissions, review workflows, revision status, metadata, document links, approval processes, and information exchanges between project stakeholders.
• Support construction, commissioning, and handover activities by checking that BIM models and asset data reflect approved design information, installation progress, equipment details, maintainability needs, commissioning records, and operational acceptance requirements.
• Review BIM deliverables from contractors and suppliers by checking model quality, data completeness, federated model updates, as-built information, asset registers, COBie-type data where applicable, and digital handover packages.
• Prepare BIM reports and coordination outputs by maintaining issue registers, model health reports, coordination dashboards, progress updates, risk summaries, meeting outputs, and lessons learned for project leadership and technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to digital delivery improvement by applying standardized BIM practices, supporting team training, improving coordination workflows, capturing lessons learned, and promoting alignment with IREN’s sustainability, reliability, scalability, and high-performance infrastructure standards.

Qualifications

• At least 5–8 years of experience in BIM management, BIM coordination, digital delivery, information management, design coordination, or model coordination, preferably within data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial infrastructure, energy projects, or large-scale complex construction environments.
• Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Building Services Engineering, Digital Construction, or a related technical discipline; relevant certifications in BIM management, ISO 19650, information management, project management, or digital delivery are well regarded.
• Strong knowledge of BIM execution plans, model coordination, common data environments, federated models, clash detection, model audits, information requirements, asset data, digital handover, and coordination across CSA, MEP, controls, security, networking, and operations disciplines.
• Proficiency with BIM and digital delivery tools such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud, Solibri, Revizto, model viewers, issue tracking tools, dashboards, document management platforms, and data reporting solutions.
• Good understanding of design, construction, commissioning, handover, and operations workflows, with the ability to translate project requirements into BIM processes, model requirements, data deliverables, and coordination routines.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary BIM activities, check model quality, identify design and construction risks, manage information exchanges, work with consultants and contractors, and support decision-making in technically complex project environments.
• Structured, analytical, collaborative, and detail-oriented profile, with strong communication, stakeholder coordination, documentation, problem-solving, planning, follow-up, and prioritization skills.
