Tamarind Intelligence is seeking a Backend Engineer to join its core engineering team in a hybrid role based in Barcelona. You will design, build, and scale backend services using Python and FastAPI, while shaping data storage and processing across SQL/NoSQL systems.

You’ll work with AWS, Kubernetes, and emerging AI tooling to push the boundaries of our data platforms. Fluency in English or Spanish is required, with a strong builder mindset and 4+ years of experience.

We are expanding our core engineering team. We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges across distributed systems, data pipelines, and applied AI infrastructure.

What You'll Do:

• Design and build scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Architect data storage and retrieval systems with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Develop batch or streaming pipelines and work with AWS and Kubernetes.
• Experiment with modern AI engineering tooling, such as coding agents and MCP ecosystems.

What We're Looking For:

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience with deep expertise in Python and APIs.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization, and data architectures.
• Strong technical decision-making skills and a builder mindset.
• Fluency in English or Spanish.
