Incode is seeking a backend engineer to design and implement scalable backend services powering millions of users. You will work across API design, data migrations, and fraud-detection‑oriented features, ensuring performance and reliability.

You'll collaborate with DevOps, ML engineers, and product teams, applying robust engineering practices, code quality, and observability to deliver high-quality, maintainable systems.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java/Kotlin and the Spring framework ecosystem.
• Experience with observability tools (logging, monitoring, tracing).
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Hands-on experience in domain modeling and REST API design.
• Track record of delivering scalable and maintainable systems.

Responsabilidades

• Architect and implement backend systems that are robust, scalable, and capable of supporting millions of active users.
• Build and maintain services from initial model design to production support across prototyping, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Tackle complex problems such as large-scale graph-based systems and massive data migrations.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and tracing to ensure system health and performance.
• Collaborate with DevOps, ML engineers, product managers, and other engineers to ensure smooth integrations and high-quality deliverables.

The Impact You’ll Make

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our team of backend and DevOps experts. In this role, you will design and implement scalable, resilient backend services that power products used by millions of users. You'll tackle complex engineering challenges, from designing robust APIs and data migrations to building fraud detection systems, while ensuring performance, stability, and maintainability.

What You’ll Own & Drive

• Engineering Excellence & Scalability – Architect and implement backend systems that are robust, scalable, and capable of supporting millions of active users. Ensure high availability and reliability through thoughtful system design.
• Service Development Lifecycle – Build and maintain services from initial model design to production support. Contribute across all phases, including prototyping, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Code Quality & Best Practices – Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code. Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards and mentor peers on engineering best practices.
• Complex Problem‑Solving – Tackle challenging engineering problems such as designing large‑scale graph‑based systems, managing large‑scale data migrations, and optimizing system performance.
• Observability & Resilience – Implement logging, monitoring, and tracing practices to ensure system health and reliability. Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks.
• Cross‑Team Collaboration – Work closely with DevOps, ML engineers, product managers, and other engineers to ensure smooth integrations and high‑quality deliverables. Collaborate with ML teams to bring fraud detection models into production. Align engineering solutions with business needs and operational goals.

• Technical Mastery – Deep knowledge of Java/Kotlin and the Spring framework ecosystem, with proven expertise in backend architectures.
• Database Expertise – Strong understanding of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis, with the ability to design schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data consistency. Hands‑on experience with graph databases (e.g. Neo4j, Memgraph, Amazon Neptune) and columnar databases (e.g. ClickHouse, Apache Cassandra).
• API Design Proficiency – Experience in designing, building, and maintaining REST APIs with a focus on clarity, scalability, and long‑term maintainability.
• Analytical Mindset – Skilled at breaking down complex systems and applying logical, systematic approaches to engineering problems.
• Quality‑Driven Approach – Commitment to writing high‑quality, maintainable code with comprehensive test coverage.

Your Background

• Experience with graph databases (e.g. Neo4j, Memgraph, Amazon Neptune) or columnar databases (e.g. ClickHouse, Apache Cassandra)
