Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a ROC Technical Lead to oversee safe and efficient operation of offshore wind assets from a remote operations center in Barcelona, delivering diagnostics, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across commissioning and service phases.

You will collaborate with site teams and engineering experts to detect and resolve issues, analyze data for faults and trends, and support reporting of technical findings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent in wind energy.
• handson experience with wind turbines or similar electromechanical systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and apply them in troubleshooting and field support situations.
• Experience with SCADA systems and digital monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear technical communication.
• Availability to travel up to 20% of the time, if required.
• Fluent English (spoken and written), willingness to relocate to Barcelona and EU work eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor turbine performance and respond to alarms or abnormal conditions.
• Support commissioning and service activities through remote diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Assist field teams in resolving technical issues and restoring performance.
• Escalate complex issues with clear and structured technical information.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to resolve problems.
• Analyse operational data to identify faults, trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Support reporting and communication of technical findings.
• Contribute to process improvement and operational optimisation.
• Support grid outages when required, prioritising safety and compliance.
• Work on a rotating weekday shift schedule with occasional on-call support during weekends and public holidays.

About the role

What you bring

• Hands‑on experience with wind turbines or similar electromechanical systems in operational environments

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with clear technical communication, calm structured approach under pressure, and a collaborative, proactive mindset
• Availability to travel up to 20% of the time, if required.

• Control room or remote operations experience
• Offshore wind or commissioning experience
• Exposure to advanced turbine control systems (e.g., MarkVIe or similar)

Ways of working

You work on a rotating weekday shift schedule (Monday to Friday), covering morning and afternoon shifts.
You also take part in an on‑call rotation for occasional weekend and public holiday support.
