Job summary

Eurecat Technology Centre in Cerdanyola del Vallès (near Barcelona) seeks a SLAM & Autonomous Navigation Researcher to advance localization, mapping, and navigation across multiple mobile robotic platforms. The role emphasizes ROS/ROS2, C++, and Python, with real-world deployments on AMRs, agricultural robots, and more.

You will work on multi-sensor state estimation, map generation in GNSS-denied environments, and planning.

Qualifications

• MSc, PhD or equivalent experience in Robotics, CS, CV, Automation, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate and maintain SLAM, localization and autonomous navigation software.
• Adapt and extend navigation software to new robots, sensors and environments.
• Develop perception-driven navigation and AI-based mission execution capabilities.
• Develop and integrate global/local planning, reactive navigation and obstacle avoidance.
• Integrate sensors (LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, GNSS, wheel odometry) into navigation stacks.
• Analyze, debug and improve navigation performance with datasets, simulation and real-world tests.
• Contribute to national/European R&D projects, technical reports and publications.
