TMEIC Port Technologies in Valencia is seeking an Automation Engineer to join the Engineering team. You will design, program, test and implement PLC-based control systems for production automation and industrial equipment.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, perform FAT/SAT, and support commissioning, with travel up to 30%. This role offers exposure to advanced automation and international projects, growth, and hands-on problem solving.

Formación

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar position.
• Vocational training in programming or equivalent professional experience.
• PLC programming knowledge.
• Knowledge of occupational risk prevention and electrical hazards.
• Mechanical, electrical and software engineering knowledge.
• Ability to interpret drawings, diagrams and machine specifications.
• Basic electrical knowledge, including E-Stop circuits and motor functions.
• Experience with JIRA and ERP tools.
• Knowledge of CAN, Ethernet, Profinet and Modbus.
• Experience with automation tools such as TIA Portal, Step 7, PAC Machine Edition or Codesys.
• Availability to travel up to 30% of the year.

Responsabilidades

• Debug issues and troubleshoot automation problems.
• Evaluate alternative solutions for control components with Hardware and Solutions teams.

• Develop and deliver training programs for customers and team.
• Supervise and verify project start-up activities.

• Participate in meetings and audits as required.

What you'll do

• Design and implement PLC programming for equipment and industrial systems.
• Implement PLC programs and test that industrial computers process information and function correctly.
• Debug issues and troubleshoot problems requiring non-standard solutions.
• Evaluate alternative and replacement solutions for control and electrical components in collaboration with Hardware and Solutions teams.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
• Coordinate on-site work processes during commissioning with vendors and subcontractors.
• Review customer standards, specifications and documentation to define software engineering requirements.
• Develop and deliver customer and team training programs.
• Supervise and verify project start-up activities.
• Contribute to compliance with the company's occupational risk prevention policy.
• Participate in meetings and audits when required.

What we're looking for

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar position.
• Vocational training in programming or equivalent professional experience.
• PLC programming knowledge.
• Knowledge of occupational risk prevention and electrical hazards.
• Mechanical, electrical and software engineering knowledge.
• Ability to interpret drawings, diagrams and machine specifications.
• Basic electrical knowledge, including PNP and NPN switches, AC and DC circuits, E-Stop circuits and stepper/servo motor functions.
• Experience with JIRA and ERP tools.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, Profinet and Modbus.
• Experience with automation tools such as TIA Portal, Step 7, PAC Machine Edition or Codesys.
• Availability to travel up to 30% of the annual working time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting FAT, SAT and commissioning activities.
• Experience working with vendors, subcontractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong troubleshooting mindset and ability to solve complex automation issues.
