Genmab is seeking an Associate Director, Medical Affairs Strategy in Madrid to lead the development and delivery of Medical Affairs strategies for assigned oncology assets. The Role

Reporting to the Country Medical Director of Spain/Portugal, the Associate Director, Medical Affairs Strategy will be a key scientific and strategic leader responsible for developing and delivering Medical Affairs strategies and tactical plans for assigned oncology assets.

The role will have a particular focus on launch readiness, evidence generation and lifecycle management. Strong strategic thinking skills will be essential to anticipate challenges and opportunities, establish clear medical priorities and shape long-term asset strategy. Working across European and global teams, the Associate Director will translate scientific data, stakeholder insights, patient needs and business priorities into clear medical strategies and impactful activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Medical Affairs strategic and tactical plans, in collaboration with the Country Medical Director and cross-functional team
• Apply strategic thinking to identify emerging opportunities, anticipate evidence gaps and prioritize activities across launch readiness and lifecycle management
• Acts as subject matter expert in local/regional/global cross-functional teams, clinical development teams, advisory boards and congresses
• Supports pre/peri/post-launch medical activities for assigned asset(s)
• Partners with MSL team for the execution of local Medical Affairs strategies
• Works with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, and Market Access to shape product strategy and launch/lifecycle plans
• Oversee local data generation strategy
• Review materials for alignment with global and local strategy
• Engages Thought Leaders and patient advocacy groups for insight-gathering

Requirements

• Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, or MD); oncology experience preferred
• 5+ years in medical affairs, clinical development, or related roles
• Demonstrated strategic thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information, anticipate future needs and translate insights into actionable Medical Affairs strategies
• Strong grasp of data interpretation
• Local healthcare system/payer landscape familiarity
• Ability to travel internationally as required

Desirable

• Nominated signatory status or experience acting as a final medical signatory
• Registered physician, preferably with the GMC, or pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
• Experience contributing to early access to medicines, either in-house or through the Early Access to Medicines Scheme
• Extensive oncology experience, with solid tumour experience preferred
• Good understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice

Location: Madrid, Spain — hybrid, 20–30% remote flexibility

The proposed gross annual base salary range for this position, in the primary location, based on a full time schedule is:

EUR88.536,00---132.804,00

The final salary offer will depend on several factors, including your skills, qualifications, and experience.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
