Certinia seeks an Associate DevOps Engineer (Data) in Granada to learn building and maintaining data systems that enable data-driven decisions across the organization.

You will collaborate with Data Engineers and DevOps peers, applying DevOps best practices across DataOps services and infrastructure on AWS, while creating synergies and reducing costs.

You will be a recent graduate or a Software Engineer with development experience, passionate about automation, data management and product quality.

Formación

  • Understanding of data integration and orchestration tools (Airflow is a plus).
  • Development background in Python or related languages.
  • Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git and Bitbucket).
  • English professional working proficiency is essential.
  • Experience working within a team.

Responsabilidades

  • Learn, define, implement and maintain a set of DataOps Services for a large data ecosystem.
  • Support DataOps by creating data infrastructures for development, testing and release.
  • Develop and support Cloud Architecture (AWS) services used to host DataOps infrastructure.
  • Learn and implement best practices in Cloud Infrastructure and CI by setting up Source Control and Jenkins jobs.
  • Learn and support disaster recovery strategies for DataOps services continuity.
  • Maintain documentation supporting development processes.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure for new data initiatives (e.g., AWS Bedrock, DBT, Slackbot).
  • Develop and maintain tools and plug-ins to improve DataOps efficiency.

Associate DevOps Engineer (Data)

THE ROLE

As an Associate DevOps Engineer in the Data Ops team you will learn to build and then maintain data systems to ensure data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization.

You will collaborate with Data Engineers in the Data Ops team and DevOps peers in the Product organisation, learning how to act as a liaison between them. You will learn to deliver DevOps best practices across the DataOps services and infrastructure, while creating synergies and reducing infrastructure costs.

In the DataOps team you will be a self-motivated and engaging engineer who understands the importance of customer-centric solutions. You will learn to work with ambiguous projects, and you will begin to drive innovation through rapid collaboration with your peers and also with colleagues from other parts of the organization.

You will either be a recent graduate or a Software Engineer who has worked in a Development Environment and has examples of project work designed to improve efficiency. Alternatively you will be a Systems Administrator with a keen interest in Application Development with strong scripting skills and examples of involvement in Software Development projects. In all cases you will have a passion for automation, data management and product quality.

You will be comfortable with cloud technologies, your way around the command line, and a solid foundation in programming and troubleshooting. You will have the ability to communicate effectively but may still require some supervision when leading initiatives with other Engineers.

What You Will Do In This Role
  • Learning, defining, implementing and maintaining a set of DataOps Services for a large and complex data ecosystem that enables Certinia to be data driven. Examples include Software Configuration Management, Continuous Integration, Infrastructure cost control and ETL processes.
  • Supporting the DataOps team by creating Data infrastructures needed to enable DataOps solutions to be developed, tested and released, in an efficient and controlled manner.
  • Developing and supporting Cloud Architecture (AWS) services, used to host the DataOps infrastructure and DataOps services including user management, security, adherence to corporate policies and housekeeping.
  • Learn and implement best practices in Cloud Infrastructure and Continuous integration by providing necessary Source Control set up and creation of Jenkins jobs, aligned with corporate standards.
  • Learn and support disaster recovery strategies to ensure DataOps services continuity.
  • Maintain a minimum set of documentation that supports and defines our development processes.
  • Learn how to build and maintain infrastructure for new data initiatives for an emerging natural-language query system (i.e. AWS Bedrock, DBT, Slackbot)
  • Develop and maintain tools and plug‑ins designed to improve the efficiency of the DataOps team.
  • Knowledge sharing, within the DataOps team such that development workflows and processes are well known.
What You Need To Be Successful In This Role
  • Some understanding of data integration and orchestration tools (Airflow is a plus).
  • Development background (Python is a plus).
  • Some experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
  • Some experience with version control systems (Git and Bitbucket are a plus).
  • English professional working proficiency is essential.
  • Experience of working within a team.
What Else Would Be Great
  • Good time management skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • An understanding of Terraform, Docker.
  • An understanding of Cloud Architecture (AWS services such as S3, ECS, ECR, EC2, Redshift, CloudWatch and VPCs).
