Fastned is hiring an Architect in Madrid to design modular station concepts and guide projects through design and construction phases. You will conduct site visits, assess data, traffic flows, and coordinate with local authorities to ensure compliant, high-quality plans.

You will work closely with the Madrid team and international architects, bringing energy transition expertise and strong communication to a fast-growing company that values innovation, inclusion, and pragmatic problem-solving.

Formación

• Experience in design of public spaces, infrastructure or site development.
• 5–9 years as an Architect.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Familiar with Spain approval procedures and talks with local authorities.
• Native Spanish, business-level English.
• Experience with Revit software.

Responsabilidades

• Create design concepts based on modular standards and guide projects through design and construction phases.
• Conduct site visits and assess survey data, entrances/exits, traffic flow.
• Develop creative design solutions for challenging locations for optimal charging experience.
• Coordinate with local authorities and external partners regularly.
• Prepare complete plans for building permit procedures.
• Collaborate with the location design team and expansion/construction teams to deliver high-quality documents.
• Act as ambassador for Fastned and EV mobility.

Your role

As an Architect at Fastned, you contribute to the success of the company with your creative and spatial thinking, providing station designs that score the highest in customer experience and that integrate our modular Fastned stations into service areas along the highways. Your role as an Architect is crucial to our multidisciplinary team. In your day-to-day job, you will spend most of your time with our local Madrid team. Besides that, you will also be connected to our architects in other countries. Become part of a young, innovative, informal and fast-growing company in the field of e-mobility!

What you’ll do

• You will create design concepts based on Fastned's modular design standards and guide your own projects through phases 1-4 of design and construction planning.
• You will conduct site visits. To get a clear picture, you will check survey data, possible entrances and exits, how traffic flows and gather other important information.
• You will create creative design solutions for challenging locations - for an optimal charging experience for our customers.
• You will work with local authorities and many external partners and coordinate with them on a regular basis.
• You draw up complete plans for building permit procedures.
• You work very closely with your direct colleague in the location design team, as well as the expansion and construction teams to deliver high-quality construction documents within the agreed timeframe.
• You see yourself as an ambassador for Fastned and electric mobility, both internally and externally, and help everyone involved to understand and support our concept.

About you

Most importantly, you are passionate about the energy transition and want to be part of a company that is really making a difference. You are a true team player, enjoy working independently, are not afraid of making mistakes, and are always curious and willing to learn. You already have experience in the design of public spaces, infrastructure or site development, or would like to develop your skills in these areas.

You also have the following:

• Ideally between 5 to 9 years of experience as an Architect.
• You are familiar navigating different stakeholders and are a strong communicator
• You are familiar with approval procedures in Spain and can confidently discuss projects with local authorities.
• You speak Spanish at native level and English on a business proficient level.
• You have previous experience with Revit.
