EU Business School in Barcelona is seeking an AP Accounting Lead to safeguard the campus's financial backbone. You will oversee full-cycle accounts payable, payroll entries, and tax compliance within a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 3–4 years in AP/accounting, Sage X3 and Excel proficiency, and fluency in English and Spanish. A 36-hour week, with one remote day per week, supports work-life balance.

Formación

The Role

The AP Accounting Lead will be responsible for the integrity of the Barcelona campus’s financial backbone. This role is a highly hands‑on, second‑in‑command position designed for a patient, resilient professional who thrives in a demanding, fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate will oversee the full cycle of Accounts Payable process, from tax compliance to executing payroll entries.

1) Strategic Leadership & Departmental Management

• Operational Autonomy: Lead the AP and Accounting function with a results-oriented mindset, ensuring all financial KPIs are met without the need for constant supervision.
• Digital Transformation:Proactively identify opportunities for automation and process optimization within the accounting function to drive institutional efficiency.
• Team Stewardship: Cultivate a high-performing environment by fostering professional growth and maintaining departmental accountability.

2) Financial Operations & Compliance

• Full-Cycle Accounting:Execute month-end and year-end closing procedures with absolute precision, ensuring the integrity of the General Ledger.
• Accounts Payable Governance:Validate and process supplier invoices via Sage X3, ensuring rigorous adherence to approval workflows and maintaining an accurate aging report.
• Fiscal Compliance: Oversee tax obligations and support external audit requirements in full alignment with Spanish PGC (Plan General Contable) and corporate regulations.
• Payroll & Treasury: Manage the accounting entries for payroll execution and co-lead daily treasury operations, including cash flow monitoring and bank reconciliations.

3) Data Integrity & Reporting

• Advanced Analytical Modelling: Utilize complex Excel workbooks to deliver structured financial reporting and data-driven insights for executive decision-making.
• Policy Enforcement: Uphold all internal corporate governance and company regulations, specifically regarding employee travel and expense management.
• Cross-Functional Continuity: Provide essential support to the Accounts Receivable department when necessary to ensure total operational coverage.

About You

• Experience: A minimum of 3-4 years in AP and Accounting (with at least 2-3 years directly executing monthly/yearly closures), including leadership or supervisory experience.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional patience, steadfast resilience, and a highly analytical mindset are mandatory to successfully navigate the demanding workload of this role.
• Education: University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced command of Sage X3 and Excel (complex formulas, data modelling, and pivot tables) is strictly required.
• Language Skills: Full professional proficiency in English (corporate language) and Spanish (regulatory and supplier interactions).
